I made this yesterday for the first time. I followed the recipe's instructions. I scooped out piece to taste which was good but when I went back, the scooped area was full of water. Is this suppose to happen. Lasaga does release water

are you sure is water and not oil? sometimes the meat releases alot of oils and well apple's suggestion is an option as well

oh gosh somebody responded.
The pasta was not precooked. And it was water released, not oil. But I think it was the ricotta cheese and I did put mushroom so mad that had something to do with it. But it became more delicious a couple days after and it smelled absolutely divine.

salts...i make some veggie lasagna the other day...
that was gooooooooooooooooood
it was simple..i used the morning star crumbles...cooked it with mushrooms, onions, some corriander....in tomato sauce..
and layered the lasagna with that...sharp cheddar and mozzarella cheese...
an u right...after a few days it was so much more better than the first day

it is the ricotta! it is too wet a cheese, goes mooshy.
try again with cheddar and see the difference. mushroom is fine, I use it with no probs.

Never had a problem with the ricotta cheese. I know the mushrooms let go water.
I use 3 cheeses on my lasagna, ricotta, parmesan and mozarella. Did you make a pasta sauce? Maybe that was watery?
