View Full Version : Amendment of AUP and Disciplinary Procedure

Due to the recent activities on the forum, it is necessary for staff to post this thread to reinforce the AUP of the forum, and identify the disciplinary measures to be taken in the event of members viotating our rules and regulations.

Staff are here to ensure that all members feel welcome and comfortable posting on the forum. Staff are also here to ensure that our rules and posts are compliant to Irish law and International Laws.

Members must take note of the following :

1. You cannot edit a staff members comments on your post
2. You cannot disrespect another member
3. You cannot make personal attacks on another member. If you do not agree with the post, you must argue the point only.
4. You cannot bring issues which arise outside the forum onto the boards
5. You cannot retaliate to a personal attack on you. You must report the post or send a PM to a staff member who is online at the time

Members are encouraged to take due care and diligence, and where they note inappropriate actions by another member, they should report the post or contact a staff member who is online.

Staff must be afforded the same respect they give to all members on the forum. Staff dedicate their own free time to ensure that members needs are met, and decisions made by staff must be respected at all times.

Staff make decisions based on the information available from within the forum only, and in the event that action is required due to a members post(s), the following is the official procedure.

1. A warning will be placed on the thread identifying the breach involved
2. For a second offence, a warning will be sent to the member by PM identifying the reasons for a second warning, and pointing out the conseqences of any further breach of conduct
3. For a third offence, a temporary restriction of one month will be issued to the member
4. The day before the end of the restriction, an e-mail will be sent to the member confirming when he/she may return with details of action which will be taken if there is any further breach of conduct
5. In the event of another breach of the AUP on his/her return, one warning only will be placed on the thread involved and confirmed by PM to the member
6 Any further breach will result in a permanent termination of the account

Note that initial warnings could be issued in one day or over a period of time. Members need to be aware that a warning issued on one day is carried forward for an indefinite period.

Members are responsible for their own actions, and are now fully informed of our procedures. Personal attacks will no longer be tolerated. Staff have a repsonsibility to all members, and while members are entitled to be a part of this forum or not, where members leave due to the actions of others, action will be taken to ensure the forum remains a friendly place to be.

The AUP has been amended to incorporate the above.
