Most Irish people are not adventurous with food. They would try new food, yes.. but can be picky with what they eat. Many may not eat a drumstick.. and 98% will not eat goat, though, they may eat lamb and beef. Pig, which many trinis think is disgusting is a treat here.
Vegetables eaten here and in the UK are
Potatoes, parsnips, cauliflower, steak or pork, beans or peas
Breakfast are potatoes and waffles
Drinks are wine, whiskey... and of course the Irish oriented drink, which is actually owned by a British company, Guiness

Irelands stable form of food since the family in 1845 is the Potatoe. We love it can cen never get enough of it. We eat it as :
Boiled
Fried
Mashed
roasted
In Colcanoon (mixed with cabbage)
In Champ (mixed with spring onion)
as Hash browns
We have our dishes. Hawke is correct, we were not that adventurous for many years but we have some nice dishes
Beef stew... mixed with vegetables and gravy made from Guinness
Bacon and cabbage with white onion sauce
The tradidional Irish fry up.. bacon, sausage, eggs, white and black pudding, mushrooms, beans, hash browns
Rissoles... a beef burger with an Irish twist or two
And yes, all the above are served with POTATOE, and of course Guinness :)
PS Guinness is still made in Ireland but is owned now by a British company called Diageo

For years, the stable food for vegetarians was also Potatoe !!
We have been very slow to cater for vegetarians in Irish cuisine, so most have come from immigrant influences...
Stir fried vegetables
Quorn (meat substitute like minced beef)
vegetable lasagna... loads of food like this
vegetable hot pot (basically vegetable stew)
and of course, loads of variations of potatoes
My sister is a vegetarian and always finds it difficult to find more than 1 or 2 choices in Irish restaurants. There are only about 5 restaurants whos food is completely vegetarian
Does Trini cuisine look after vegetarians ?

yes setanta
u got loads of stuff, remember from the indian indentured labourers..
we have roti...which is like bread and u have different kinds; and then u have different vegetarian takari/ dishes to go with it.
You have channa and aloo, curried mango, curried chatigne (jackfruit), baingan (eggplant) choka, tomato choka, aloo (potato) choka, fried aloo, cabbage- you can curry or steam with tomatoes...., bhaji (spinach)
setanta, as long as u have a veggie, you can curry it....
also, you have doubles...which I hope hawke has explained to you by now.. aloo pies, saheena, kouchori, baingani...
the regular red beans, black beans....lentils, dal, calallo( you can have this made either veggie or with meat or crab in it)...
then you have chinese trini food...fried rice, lo mein, chow mein....chunky vege
trinis cater a lot for veggies :D
