I am advocating the use of green roofs in Trinidad.
Reasons:
1. They help improve air quality
2. They retain storm water, reducing runoff rates and consequently may help mitigate flash floods
3. Reduce inner city heat and dampen outside noise
(as if the first 3 weren't enough)
4. Aesthetics
5. Attract birds
6. Possible community use in apartment blocks (mini park or vegetable garden)

What channels would one have to go through to get these kinds of projects up and running?

they does have to put down waterproofing, drainage, filtration, then soil mix before planting

in Scandinavia they was building sod roofs for centuries, Germany started doing green roofs last century and then Japan started and Monaco too, the States come in late but they have some in Chicago and Virginia and San Francisco
