hello people, sa ka fÃÃâ€*’¨t? (whats up)
I need some help, i just got a CD from a Trinidadian friend of mine, and I am working on a project with it, my friend has told me that this is a style of music from Trinidad's Hindu population. can you help me get some more info on it? history language, style of play ect?

bon bagay... just ignore Nightshade. I think he forgot to take his medication again :rolleyes: I am not a chutney fan, but I am certain clay or someone else might be of assistance

As a seasoned cultural observer, perhaps I may be of assistance here.
Chutney music is a good accompaniment to rum. It substitues for chaser. If you take your rum straight, people will call you rumsingh and other objectionable names. But if you take chutney music with it, they will call you hail fellow well met (translation in trini dialect - a boss feter).
Chutney music has some beneficial qualities not yet defined in the sociological literature. It causes more rum to be consumed so that the rummies fall down drunk and vomit and forget to beat their wives. Their wives wave their arms and wine their waists and forget that they are overweight and smell of garlic and curry.
all in all chutney music is a good thing if you have strong eardrums and drink enough rum not to notice that it bad

Well Bella, right now I am living in Queens N.Y. so it should not be difficult for me to find Chutney Music. perhaps i will begin my search on Liberty Ave. I will try to catch it live one of these days. Thanks for the posts people!
